Backups and a new phone
How do I keep my journal safe?
Settings → Back up to Google Drive. Odoly then backs up once a day and when you leave the app, into a hidden folder of your own Drive. You can also Save a backup file anywhere you like. Both are free. If the last backup is more than a week old, the journal shows a reminder.
I got a new phone. How do I move my data?
Install Odoly on the new phone and choose Restore from a backup, then From Google Drive (with the same Google account) or From a file. Odoly shows how many cars and entries it found before writing anything. The old phone's backup is never overwritten: each phone keeps its own file.
How do I delete the backup from Google Drive?
Open Google Drive on the web, Settings → Manage apps, find Odoly and choose Delete hidden app data. Turning off Drive backup in the app stops new backups but keeps the existing file.
Moving from another app
Which apps can I import from?
Fuelio, Fuelly (formerly aCar), My Cars, Car Expenses Manager and Drivvo, plus any CSV file with a header row. Export a backup or CSV from the old app, then in Odoly open Settings → Import from another app. You see every car, entry and skipped row with the reason before anything is saved. Importing the same file twice adds nothing.
My numbers don't match the old app.
Odoly counts consumption only between two full tanks and averages it by distance, not by tank. Apps that average per tank, or treat a partial fill as full, give different numbers. Send us the file if the difference looks wrong and we will check it.
Entries and numbers
I didn't fill the tank up to the top.
Turn off Full tank for that entry. The fuel is carried into the next full-tank stretch, so the average stays right.
I forgot to log a fill-up.
On the next fill-up turn on Missed a fill-up before this one. That one stretch is left out of the averages instead of spoiling them. You can also add the forgotten entry later with its real date.
Why does an entry have a warning?
Odoly never blocks saving. If something looks off, such as an odometer reading lower than the previous one or a date in the future, the entry is saved and marked so you can check it. Tap the mark to see why.
Does the receipt scan send my receipt anywhere?
No. The text is read on the phone. See the Privacy Policy.
Odoly Pro
I bought Pro but the app still shows the free version.
Open the Odoly Pro screen and tap Restore purchases. Make sure the phone uses the Google account you bought with. If it still doesn't help, write to us with the order number from your Google Play receipt.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On the Odoly Pro screen tap Manage subscription, or in Google Play open your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Pro stays until the end of the paid period.
What happens to my cars when Pro ends?
Nothing is deleted. Cars within the free limit stay fully usable; the rest become read-only and keep their history. Archive a car you no longer drive to free its slot.
